Why Intensive Martial Arts Training Is Beneficial To The Expat Thespian

Okay, I've been training in Muay Thai for the last month and I must admit something hurts everyday! Nonetheless, doing an average of two-a-day sessions, for three hours each session, has major benefits for the actor. Today post?

Why Intensive Martial Arts Training Is Beneficial The Expat Thespian

Mental Capacity - Paying to get yourself into better shape says a lot about how much you love your craft and your body.  Having the mental discipline to get up every morning, go through your exhaustive routine, eat, take a nap and do it all over again proves that your capable to start a project and see it through to the end.  No one joins a martial arts camps without a high level of focus. It all starts with the mentality of wanting to succeed, personally & professionally.

Physically Healthy - We all wish we were in better shape and the film industry is crucial on actors when it comes to our bodies.  However, at a camp, your daily routine of martial arts can whip your body into condition. As actors our body is the most important instrument we have and conditioning our instrument is vital to success. I'm not talking about looking like Thor or Black Widow, I'm talking about being healthy & fit for the pressures of the film set.  (Check out this guest post by Michela Caratinni on Size Matters)

Absolute Dedication - Whether it's Keanu Reeves in John Wick or Gal Gadot in Wonder Woman, these actors trained for months to get in the fighting/physical shape necessary for their roles.  Imagine walking into a casting office and the agent says, "You're going to have to train intensley for 3 months for this role."  "Are you up for it?"  Your answer of "YES" will be based on a personal experience of previous intense martial arts training. So show your dedication and find a camp near you.

Muay Thai is great for physical conditioning but if this technique isn't for you click here for a list of intensive camps...Expat Thespian!  Please Note:  I only did a minor search on the internet. I'm not 100% sure about these other camps. Do Your Homework!
